Sleep Technology Institute (STI) has provided management services and technical support for sleep disorder centers since 1996. Services include the turn-key development of new start up locations with the provision of all necessary equipment, staffing, and education to enable a center to perform and treat patients. The development of each center is designed to meet the standards and competencies set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). STI is a leader in the development of quality polysomnographic technologists to perform all testing provided in the sleep disorder center. Each turn-key partner receives all necessary support to operate a sleep center successfully.

Policies and procedure manuals are provided to ensure appropriate practice parameters and guidelines for services performed in the sleep center.

STI is a proactive company addressing the latest developments in technology and standards of practice. One example is the commitment in the development of a centralized processing center. This further creates efficiencies in operations and significant improvements in turn-around time of data to a same day level. STI has developed a network of VPN servers and hardware to address HIPAA standards in the transfer of data and the flexibility to work with many existing IT department protocols at hospitals and freestanding locations. The networking also allows us to provide the first national service of real-time technical support. Utilizing our extensive network, customers are able to access on call RPSGT's 24/7 with technical difficulties during data acquisition.

The on-call technicians can access the remote location through a secure encrypted connection, view the data in real-time remotely (including digital video), take over the remote computer, and provide solutions and/or suggestions as the study is being recorded. Referring physicians are able to securely access the sleep center from their homes and/or offices to view the data on-line in real time.

Polysomnography education is a high priority to STI. All staff provided by STI performing sleep studies has undergone appropriate training and competency development. The training provided to our technologists compliments abilities necessary to perform the procedures necessary in a sleep center and to work independently. Physician support for interpretive services are accessible. Our medical sleep experts are available to interpret sleep studies and make recommendations for appropriate treatments. These services can be tailored to assist in the development of a physician building the skills necessary to interpret their own data.

Record scoring is provided as a service to our turn-key customers. The studies are transferred to our centralized center and scored same day, next day, or second day accordingly. All records are scored by registered polysomnographic technologists with years of experience in the field. Once records are scored, the data is then sent back electronically (through a secure encrypted connection) to the remote center and can be sent directly to the interpreting physician for review/interpretation. The reports can then be printed directly on your printer without any intervention.
